Player development is a much richer term than skill training for defining how coaches aim to better serve players. For any player that is serious about their game, it needs to be a top priority. It is something that should be valued, game-planned for and should include the following:
🏀Athletic development, as this affects the range of motion, strength, coordination and much more for players to perform particular technical moves.
🏀Perceptual skills required to assess particular situations, and then act (or not act) on the particular situation. Also known as perception-action coupling.
🏀A player’s personal life, given their family and school situations will no doubt have an impact on their cognitive state when it comes to training. This may include incorporating strategies such as mindfulness within player development.

"I never feared about my skills because i put in the work. Work eliminates fear. So if you put forth the work, what are you fearing? You know what youre capable of doing, and what youre not."

Playing games alone only benefits the front of the jersey. what if for 32 minutes that an aau game provides, a player could get 32 minutes of individual work; playing 5 32-minute games is equvilent to 160 minutes of player development. get the right mix of training and games; find your right mix."
